I am Preeti Raghunath, Lecturer (Communication and Media Studies) and Coordinator of the Masters in Communications and Media Studies (MCMS), at the School of Arts and Social Sciences, Monash University, Malaysia. My academic interests lie in communication and media governance, and media anthropology. Drawing from this, my work has focused on communication technologies and associated policies, placing people at the centre of such an effort.
Areas of interest: I enjoy researching on:
- public-centric workings of communication technologies, both policies and practices
- empire and media, bringing archival and ethnographic perspectives to the global
- theorising media policy through critical, deliberative and sustainability lenses
